The diver was a sculpture I completed in 2021 and serves as the logo and mascot to my art practice. Originally planned as a character for a graphic novel project called 'Clockwork Ocean', this project was eventually left incomplete beyond a short comic from my BA in 2017 and this character-building project.

In the story, The Diver is one of the last of the human race, in a world that has industrialised and polluted its oceans beyond the ability to sustain life. The Diver builds and looks after a host of mechanical fish he has built himself to repopulate the oceans; however, one day he stumbles upon a real fish, changing his life forever.

I may go back to this project one day however for now it serves as a memory to a time when my art practice and style were still in a state of flux, building him inspired me to continue to make sculpture pieces using the skills I have gained from years of model building and painting. He now serves as a symbol to my creative practice and studio.
